A. Use the search box, category menu, and filters menu at the top of the page to find the best electric bike for your lifestyle and budget.

Q. What's the best electric bike?
A. It really depends on how you intend to use it, what your budget is, and what your body is like. There are many choices and sizes.

Q. Should I buy online or from a store?
A. Online direct to consumer ebikes tend to cost less, but can be difficult to unbox, tune, repair, and find replacement parts for.

Q. Can I charge the battery for my ebike by pedaling?
A. Some models use gearless hub motors and offere regenerative braking, in that case it may be possible... but it's very inefficient.

Q. Hub motor vs. mid-drive motor?
A. Hub motors tend to cost less, can work if the chain breaks, and may offer throttle operation. Mid-drives tend to be more efficient if you can shift gears, but tey put more stress on the drivetrain (chain, sprockets, and derailleur).

Q. How to care for an ebike battery?
A. Most lithium-ion batteries last longer if stored at 50% in a cool dry location. Extreme heat can reduce their lifespan and even cause a fire. Extreme cold may temporarily reduce their capacity and the range you get from them.

Q. What if my ebike battery dies?
A. Most companies sell replacement packs. If the company goes out of business, consider having the battery re-packed with fresh cells. Not all batteries can be re-packed due to proprietary electronics and tamper-resistance.

Q. When was EBR launched?
