Bafang 500w compared to Bafang 750w

Hello, this is my first post. I’ve sold my car and I’m looking to buy an ebike as a commuter to bring the kids in their trailer to daycare and then to work. I’ve pretty much narrowed it down to Volt bike vs a local store (RTG) who both produce a very similar product. The dilemma is the local store is brining in 10 of the model with a 750w Bafang motor, BUT Volt has better accessories and a more established reputation. My question boils down to whether there is anyone here with enough experience to say whether the 750w motor would be significantly better for towing the kids in the trailer, have better York, have better top end speed. Any advice in this regard would be much appreciated. BTW I’ve read one review online, but I’m really not sure of the source. They indicated that claims made by Bafang regarding even the wattage of the motor are patently inaccurate (ie 700 not 750), and their torq claims are about half what they claim. I also notice a similar comment by the founder of this site when reviewing the Volt bike mariner where he says there’s little difference between the two motors. Still, I feel like there could be more definitive information out there.

I myself would not buy anything less them the 750w Bafang motor, go Rad they all have 750w motors and a 14ah battery, it will do the job you want. Rad Runner at $1299 is the best bang for the buck out there. Yes, it will pull you kids to daycare and two small kids can even ride on the back.

Hello from Vernon, I don't know how the store is importing 750 watt bikes into Canada, good for him if he can. I'm of the ilk you never have to many watts, most of my bikes are running at 1600 watts including my Rad bike. One thing I would suggest make sure your going to ride any bike before purchasing, get an idea of the power. The reason I say ride a bike before buying is I purchased a Voltbike and immediately sold it at a loss due to issues with it fitting me. Lots of similar stories on this forum. I have a Rad Rover and it's just okay, cheap components, same as Voltbike. Honestly, I would buy a bike from a dealer, you won't regret it.
