Brooks seat cover

I found a great cover for my Brooks B-17. Brooks name on cover. They come different sizes. I got the one just right for my seat. Goes on quick, and provides great UV protection when parked. Will use next time I get caught in a heavy rain.

Try to post a link or what and where to a product you want to promote. It's helpful to those looking. I purchased the Brooks cover, I knew it would fit and work well.

If you search around the place you will find the reviews of it are fairly negative. Not something that I have bothered with my numerous Brooks saddles. I also never knew that there was an "UV problem" with the saddles, a getting soaked one yes, but not a UV one ... Plastic shopping bags do the trick in my experience with the rain. In fact used them two nights ago on my touring bike which was out in the rain all night ... saddle was dry in the morning.

I don't think I've ever seen a bad word posted on the Brooks brand saddle cover. Admittedly I haven't looked very hard. For $10, it's perfect.

I use a shower bonnet: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod1460108
You can find versions for very low cost. I have seen multi-packs of this style at Walmart. These bonnets are perfect protection for covering Brooks Saddles. An ideal solution when transporting or storing my bike's with Brooks saddles.
Great idea and a little tidier than using shopping bags and as two of my bikes are used touring they are out in all weather for days at a time. The third one has a C15 on it ... still to decide if I like that or not.

First page of Google brought up the UK retailer's Chain Reaction website ... enough negative comments for me to confirm that there are mixed views. Also respected riders at the Australian Cycling Forums, tourers like me and whose views and experiences I hold highly also express similar views to mine, i.e., not worth it.

Each to their own of course, but given the number of Brooks saddles I use/have used without it (now just over 49,000 km on my Brooks saddles), I am happy with my decision. YMMV

Well... there is that if you want to be picky;) I guess I really didn't look very good. I did notice Brooks no longer offers the cover with the logo, maybe they changed it due to customer's reviews! Hope so, I'll have to test it to be sure it's water resistant/proof.

Thanks

There is also a fairly lengthy forum discussion somewhere (probably MTBR) on the covers which was not very positive, but which of course I cannot find now. I actually read the thread in the past week as I was researching the choice of Brooks saddle for my Salsa Mukluk build; I cannot make my mind up whether to go B17 (or another model in leather) or a plastic fantastic C17 so wanted to see what other fatbike riders are using.

Probably better without the logo. Not so tempting for thieves?
Even when it's sunny, I'm tempted to leave it on when I park my whip outside at work. The birdies seem to love to sh** on it.
