E-Joe Koda "ghost pedaling" / chain slack

I just picked up a used 2017 E-Joe Koda this weekend. I spent the day cleaning it up, tightening bolts, removing the crappy fenders, and setting it up for me. One thing I noticed is that if you are moving the rear wheel, the crank is moving. I noticed it when I took it out for a ride. If I stop pedaling and coast, the chain would slack and slap the chain stay. I can hold up the rear end, hit the throttle and the crank will move with the wheel and the cadence sensor will keep the wheel moving because the crank is still moving.

I did some research and it sounds like it's a freewheel/freehub issue. The bike only has 545 miles on it. Any ideas on something to try to fix it? I don't have the tools to remove the cassette, so I'd have to take it to a bike shop if it comes to that.

Thanks for any help!

Nevermind. I put it on a repair stand got the wheel spinning and hosed down the cassette/chain with tri-flow. It seemed to take care of it.
