Trek-They Won Me Over

With all of the items I've discussed, complained, and posted about my SuperCommuter, I have to say, Trek went the distance and made good on the problematic bike I had by replacing it. Unfortunately the original selling dealer (Trek Middletown) was not involved and Trek Bicycle Stirling (NJ) went beyond all expectations to help in assisting the resolution along with the Trek representative at headquarters and the NJ dealer representative. Sure, I had stress, but I'm really sure now that Trek will continue to be my manufacture of choice given the experience. I'm ready to order a brand new one in September/October after they become available (the replacement for the Super Commuter)....because I know that Trek will go the extra mile for me

That’s what Trek does. I recently made a bad decision and bought a Giant LaFree +1. Dealer sold me a bike that they knew did not fit. I had two flats within two weeks and got dealer lack of interest in fixing them. I dropped by the Trek store and told them what happened and the owner followed me home, picked up the bike and fixed it. As a result I have spent around a grand in the Trek store on the bike. I am in the process of choosing a new Trek Rail bike.

Trek has been very amazing and responsive with their support. I was looking at a bikes for months and was almost ready to pull the trigger on a $1500 bike from a huge mainly online distribution network. For only a few hundred dollars more I got a Trek Verve + E Bike. It is over 20 pounds lighter, The components are several notches higher, and most importantly my local dealer literally spent hours making sure I had the correct bike for my needs and the proper fit and installed several accessories with no charge for labor. I am certain that over many years I would have spent far more on the other bike with replacing components and adjustments and the frustration of not having a reliable local Trek bike shop to back me up.

I don't know about Trek the brand (haven't owned one) but my local Trek dealer has been fantastic in supporting me and servicing my non-Trek, Bosch bikes. A year or so ago they added Tern to their brand lineup so I've bought a few bikes from them. And I have a deposit on that new Allant+. I've kind of been on the fence about that one but one of the big selling points is that I know between Trek and the dealer, I'll be taken care of should anything go wrong with the bike.
