    U-Lock solution for SuperDelite

The Xena lock looks interesting. Do you have any information on its total angle grinder cut time? I like that it requires two cuts as well. Also, any cut time info on the Pragmasis? Thanks for writing up your findings!

    U-Lock solution for SuperDelite

I'd have serious reservations here. The OnGuard Pitbull is not even the highest grade U-lock by that company. Even their highest grade U-lock, the Onguard Brute only lasts 2 1/2 minutes against an angle grinder. That's not appropriate for an e-bike in the $10K range. The recommendations here are...

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

I've already set up an order for it. I think it's a nice compromise of angle grinder resistance and weight. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/airlok/hiplok-d1000-anti-angle-grinder-bike-lock/

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

Yikes! I feel like a made a good faith attempt to reply here. Your attacks here set a bad tone for the forum and detract from the positive experience of others. Please be more considerate if you wish for others to engage with you in a positive way.

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

We definitely don't want folks forced to drive in those metal killboxes that ruin our environment and quality of life. We can minimize the risk, and we shouldn't give up so easily.

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

Easy there, guy. I hope your day gets better if you're having a bad one. Yes, I did look at the article before responding. The only Abus lock I saw that they reviewed in the article was the folding one. Yes, there were other Kryptonite locks, but the initial reference was to the Abus 540, which...

Bike lock for a city that's not very bike friendly

I couldn't agree with you more. Because everything is after the fact, you're also taking up tube space with the Boomerang. And it's obvious that it's there, so it's a clearer target for removal (although some may argue that it's a deterrent). Riese and Muller at least includes a cafe lock and...

Bike lock for a city that's not very bike friendly

Super helpful. But they're on version two now with the Boomerang system, right? https://shop.boomerangbike.com/collections/products/products/boomerang-cyclotrac-v2

Abus Granit Xplus 540 U-lock experiences?

They only reviewed the Abus folding lock, which is not as good as solid U-locks. Their results should definitely not be generalized to all Abus products. This summary is the most comprehensive look on cut times that I've seen. I go into in quite a deep depth that I'll spare you here.

Bike lock for a city that's not very bike friendly

Nice first-hand insight on the audible alarm systems. I think my own attraction to accelerometer systems is less about audible alarms (not sure how I feel about accidental triggers and adding to noise pollution). What I really like is the phone notification. I'm curious how you've found the...

    Which is the better lock?

If you're going out, it may make sense to get a good U-lock like a Granite 59 Extreme. That'll be lighter overall. An Onguard Brute U-lock is a good value with reasonable angle-grinder resistance (close to 3 minutes of attack time). If instead you're looking at your situation as the weight not...

    HipLok AirLok

When I looked at it, it seemed pretty solid. Other options may include a ground anchor with a chain or an anchored bike rack. I wrote an essay on bike security that covers home storage, but I think you're starting in a good place.

    Is this a good lock?

As others said, this is unlikely to be a good lock and is certainly not worth relying on as a standalone. Here's a resource for bike security in the future.
