    Commuter companion - infinite upgrades!

If we keep an open platform, there are a lot of ways to innovate at a quicker pace. You are not constrained by limitations on battery or motor, bespoke components. The trade off is looks tend to be a little bare. :)

Oh.. this is SUCH a great post. Let me do a deep dive This is such a great question. Specifically on the custom upgrades ! 1. Yes, the cranks, larger 60T chain-rings, and handlebars are available at a special pricing for our customers (cant say cost plus for legal reasons). I haven't had...

Any interest in a Bosch based Ultimate Commuter Pro ?

You hit the nail on the head - at Watt Wagons we haev chosen standard quality components that are easily end-user replaceable / serviceable even after warranty expires. Specifically for batteries, any good current 52V pack with 30A continuous will work. That being said, Bosch has also done a...

Just Ordered THE FIRST EVER Fat Tire Watt Wagon!

The issue is the torque rating, not the wattage alone. I’ll confirm again.

Just Ordered THE FIRST EVER Fat Tire Watt Wagon!

We have the throttle with the 750W version. We don’t have gear hub manufacturer warranty for the 1000W motor with throttle since torque exceeds 110Nm.

Any interest in a Bosch based Ultimate Commuter Pro ?

Ok. 😊 in terms of reliability, both motors have been thoroughly tested over long distances. The power in Bafang is the key differentiator.

Any interest in a Bosch based Ultimate Commuter Pro ?

Yes, electric shifting for rohloff, Bosch battery packs (frame mounted, not internal) don’t work well), everything else, the works (Latest display, apps, etc, everything Bosch supports). Also thanks for bringing this up - I'm not moving to Bosch. This will be in addition to the current...

Confessions of an ebike startup owner - Watt Wagons

Yeah - the "wagon" may be throwing you off :) Not in cargo yet - we are still young. Hopefully some day soon. One of the core tenets of starting Watt Wagons was to provide an easy path for customers to upgrade and swap out components. Lets say you get a nice integrated frame battery and 3...

Got it. I think @KellyH can help you with a bunch of these. He in fact built a custom solar charger trailer to go with the bike.

Confessions of an ebike startup owner - Watt Wagons

I would echo what @BillP mentioned earlier. The motor in the video is the BBSHD. The motor on our bikes is the newer Bafang Ultra. I cannot speak to the type of soldering used - I am sure we have experts on EBR who can comment on the build quality of the BBSHD and Bafang Ultra lines...

Confessions of an ebike startup owner - Watt Wagons

The frame is rated for 150kg / ~300lb. I can up it, but I’d like to know more about the use case. Are you going to do more cargo ? Yes, Rohloff manual shifting is standard. Ergon GP1s can be swapped out for GP5s. Selle SMP saddle is no problem. Pedals / Raceface are no problem. Wider tires...
