Making Portable Solar Charger for E-Bike

Here is a posting that I did last year regarding my installation of a 200 Watt panel system. These parts were all available from Amazon and I have used this setup to totally charge my Tern Si8 converted E-bike for the last year. I am not sure what you mean by portable??? Do you want this...

Watt wagons mid drive, Gates carbon belt, titanium frame

I hate to ask a couple of simple questions. How can they sell this legally? Isn't the speed limit suppose to be < 20 mph?

Wheel axle does not fit fork end

You can just use your aluminum forks but add a torque arm. It works with my bike and I totally trust it. Shipping from GRIN technologies shouldn't be that expensive. The arm itself was designed by a couple of very capable mechanical engineers and are about 1/4" thick and would handle the...

Wheel axle does not fit fork end

Torque arm that I bought for my Tern Verge Si8 was not that expensive. I think around $27 Can...cheaper than buying another bike. Are you not mechanically inclined? What Thomas is recommending makes perfect sense and safe.

    Replacement front wheel for Haibike

Sounds like you have a faulty wheel bearing. Do the spokes ring tight (tap on them and listen to them and they should have a slightly "ping")? Maybe the wheel needs to be examined.

Wondering about the front suspension forks on e-bikes

All M/C suspension front ends use oil and have complex damping mechanism built into the down tubes. I know, I just replaced the fork seals on my Suzuki M/C. There are orifices and damping oil along with a spring and I wonder if e-bikes are the same. Does the oil in the front end of a...

Wondering about the front suspension forks on e-bikes

A question...are the front suspension on e-bikes hydraulic and springs or just springs? Are both front units suspended with a hydraulic oil inside them and what would be the maintenance. I am assuming the suspension system is just like the motorcycle suspension so there is a damping of the...

Firmware Upgrading with Bosch, Brose and Yamaha or others...

OK but actually, the firmware is just an update from my understanding and not a means to access the parameters of your controller in most cases. I am sure Bosch doesn't allow even the dealers to play around with the parameters. Cycle Analyst does allow some degree of access and even with this...

    Stromer sport

I don't know anything about your motor...you may have to research this on your own. Google is a great place to start. For instance I would just search for the "Repair shop for my electric bike in the NY area- Stromer bike" or where ever else you live.

For those in the CA zones affected by the blackout- How do you charge it ?

Solar panels....I have a 200 watts setup on my roof and can charge my 36 V 14.5 amp battery in 5 hrs. It works but it costs. The total setup cost with panels, 2 x 6 Volt deep cycle batteries, 20 Amp controller, 1000 watt inverter, monitor and associated hardwire (wiring, plugs, connectors...
