70-75 pounds seems about right for an ultra with FS. 65 was pie in the sky. Only way you're getting close to 60 pounds is with carbon frame and wheelset.

You should be fine at 6'2".

    Frey CC

$100 upgrade from 1000W to 2300W. Earlier this month the 2300W controller was $700 (less than I paid). The 750W version was only $500, currently $600. I believe if you are willing to give up warranty you can get the 2300W version for around that cost (upcharge is mostly to cover warranty)...

    Frey CC

Honestly I probably don't need it but sure was fun flying up the 700' hill one day at 20 mph barely pedaling. I'd say it was worth the $100 upgrade just for the entertainment value. I actually paid less considering I got a discount as an existing WW customer (having pre-ordered the Helios...

2300W, just so I have it. I like having options, say if I wanted 1250W nominal in a pinch I have it. Yes, stock battery.

    Frey CC

I honestly don't know as I've only ridden gravel with my CC. The moto-x tires tend to spin in the dirt but if you put on knobby tires it will probably work fine for light single track. It also doesn't feel particularly nimble in turns - I'd say it rides / maneuvers more like a cadillac than a...

    Frey CC

No, best solution is to upgrade the controller to achieve 15-35% more range. With aftermarket controller, my butt wears out before the CC battery does. YMMV depending on how much you pedal.

    Frey's new 2021 model

Ha, well I just try to keep it real. I may sound like a fanboy when it comes to innotrace / x1 controller but I really do think it's a must have if you can afford it. If it wasn't worth the price of admission I'd have no problems saying so.

    Frey CC

It really is a beautiful bike. Every time I walk down the stairs I admire the red queen in the foyer. My wife is less thrilled with the storage location.

    Frey's new 2021 model

Well, for me it was like the difference between being in a relationship that isn't that bad and falling in love. On my CC I had significant range anxiety and regretted not getting a spare until I upgraded the controller. Innotrace actually claims 35% which is closer to what I've seen. Watt...

    Frey's new 2021 model

As I understand, the innotrace (Archon X1) controller is sinewave which allows for much higher sampling frequency. The stock controller is modulating and much lower sampling frequency which limits the refinement and efficiency gains possible. I don't think you will be able to make the stock...

    Watt Wagon direct competitors?

Just stepped on the scale. 184, yikes, up 10 pounds from the last time I rode my Frey CC. That's roughly the weight of the 840wh battery on my CC that I was weighing, ha, so I've got a battery to lose.

    Watt Wagon direct competitors?

Just don't get these heavy MTB with monster batteries like the Beast. If you want 100 mile range for road or extended touring, sure, but for a MTB? If I didn't know better I'd say they are targeted to those with with things to compensate for or facing mid life crisis.

Bafang Ultra - steel or nylon gear?

I don't disagree that sentiment. That said, when my Ultra gets loud it's when I'm asking a lot from the motor. My Luna X1 M600 (non-ludi) gets really hot on moderate climbs so I don't think it's necessarily folks being unreasonable with the ludi M600. Perhaps the Ultra would fare better...
