Poor After Sales Service - Rad Power

I still have the same rovers from 4 years ago. It is nice to have a thread available with info that can be helpful from past experiences in one spot. I've been on other forums when folks just repeat the same threads over and over again every few months asking the same questions. The main...

Poor After Sales Service - Rad Power

It has be +4 years and +7000 miles between my two 16 Radrovers. They are still going strong on their 3rd set of tires and 2nd set of brakes (upgraded to TRP Spyke brakes). Any ebike component I had to fix has been plug-n-play like the controller, LCD screen, or wiring harness. Everything else...

    New Rover “Limited Edition”

I would think Rad would make the limited Ed. rover with upgraded brakes, lights, rack(s), color LCD screen, tires, rims, or even gearing? Rad can make the upgrades standard or at their cost to add the upgrades. Offer an extra 6-12 months of warranty and toss in a handle bar mounted GPS...

Radmission accelerator work on highest motor assist?

I was only referring to how I use the throttle in situations under max speed. I am assuming the throttle will work the same in any PAS setting and provide max wattage until it is released or you reach max ebike speed. On my Rover/City, pedaling in PAS 5 put out the same 750w of power as using...

    RadRover tubes

I've tried both Kenda and Mongoose tubes and didn't really see a difference? The four tubes I've tried all performed about the same with longevity and how resistant to puncher. I improved longevity by 5X with OEM tires when I added Mr. Tuffy+Stans tire sealant; but, still had about 1 flat a...

    RadRover tubes

I work commute and store my Rover on the 2nd floor of my building (keep out of the weather and charge). I usually take the elevator up; but, it was down for few days for repairs. It was extremely easy to push the Rover up a flight of stairs with the throttle (pretty much drove itself up the...

    RadRover tubes

The Radrover is only 5-7 lbs more than a Radcity and weighs less than a Radwagon. The Radrover just looks like a heavy/bulky tank of an ebike because of the thicker frame and fat tires. The fat tires do change how the ebike maneuvers because of the additional rolling mass. Never felt like the...

    RadRover tubes

Amazon for replacement tubes for my two 2016 Radrovers for $15 - $30 each. Haven't seen much of a difference in quality between the Mongoose, Zol, Vee tire, or Kenda fat tire tubes. I usually get Mongoose 26X4 because of the cheaper price. I also added Mr. Tuffy liners and two 2-oz bottles of...

What shoes do you ride with?

I've had the occasional issues with laces when I was riding with my jogging shoes. Nothing worse than getting your laces caught in the chain at 20 mph. One of the reasons I picked a MTB shoe with a Velcro strap. I do the double knot thing with my hiking shoes when I work commute in winter.

What shoes do you ride with?

I wear my Columbia Granite Ridge waterproof hiking shoes in winter work commute. Northwave MTB All mountain Escape Evo the rest of the time. Also added extra large MTB pedals for my size 14 shoes on my Radrover fat tire ebike.

    Rotating ebike tires needed?

Another rear hub ebike owner (two 2016 Radrover 4" fat tire). I rotate my tires because the rears wear 2X faster than the fronts. Only got around 1100 miles after a year from the rear OEM Kenda Juggernaut tires on both ebikes because I didn't rotate. I got a little over 3000 miles in 3 years...

Known Issues & Problems with Rad Power Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have a 16 radrover also and I blew the internal fuse inside the battery pack. The battery would operate and discharge on the rover with the blown fuse. I just couldn't recharge the battery on the charger. Very easy to take the case apart and inspect/replace the internal fuse. Can't...

How do you store your bike?

Hanging by front tire might be an issue for (e)bike with brakes and suspension systems that use fluids. I don't know how those fluids would pool or leak if stored 90 degrees for long periods of time. I've heard brakes that use mineral oil can leak out if stored 90 degrees. All my bikes have...

How do you store your bike?

Took some picks of my 5 Steadyrack bike holders for my ebikes and reg bikes. I like the ability to swing left or right for easy access and for more compact storage. Very easy to install the rack and mount/dismount the bikes. Drilling the top hole into the stud at 72" works out perfect for me...

Radmission accelerator work on highest motor assist?

I use my accelerator with w/ or w/o max PAS and med-to-max leg pedal power for even faster acceleration from a stop or more power when climbing short inclines to maintain my speed.

How do you store your bike?

I have 5 Steadyracks in my garage. I put the 4 bolts of each rack into the studs for max holding weight. Zero issues with holding my 3 ebikes ( two 80 lbs Radrovers, one 65 lbs Radcity w/ fender, & two 30-35 lbs reg bikes). I have three different Steadyracks: - two fat tire - one MTB - two...

    Brake Pads lifespan

I can be up to 300 lbs with winter riding gear, rack bag for tools, commuter back pack (work cloths, lunch), and water. I changed out my original pads/calipers after around 1500 miles on my 2016 Radrover. Original set-up was fine for weekend riding. The brakes were getting noisy, needed...

    Rear racks

I have the same Topeak rear racks on my two 2016 Radrovers. I needed to add blue locktite to the screws because they would get loose after a few months. Very easy to strip the aluminum frame thread if you over torque the screw too much. Zero issue working themselves out after +3 1/2 years...

    Light up my life

I would recommend adding a headlight to the helmet if you ride the streets in low light times. I noticed cars sometimes exiting a side street can't see low mounted bike lights if they are blocked by parked vehicle (no cop, no stop drivers). The high mounted helmet light above the roofs of cars...
