That's great, and you save money too. I've seen where the new fork raises the front of the bike by about 3". I suppose that's easily offset by lowering the handlebars and tilting the seat.

It would be easy to put a plastic bag over the display but the controller is in the frame. I suppose an electrical short in the display, or button assembly could have fried the controller, or water may have got to the controller itself.

I'm not the expert but I think it should work with either. The XP has a threaded headset, the new forks need a threadless headset. (NECO H185 Ball Retainer Type 1-1/8" threadless)

In case anyone is wondering, the link took some searching but here it is to the air fork. It's about $40 more than the oil fork but probably worth it if you're going to spend the money and take the time. I don't plan on buying one until I can get the proper headset...
