Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

Postscript: As I mentioned a week ago, last Wednesday, I took the bike out for a 79 mile trip. Came back and the tire was holding pressure like a rock. Funny thing though, Saturday evening, 72 hours later, I felt the tire. It was mushy. I checked it with a pressure gauge and found it at 12psi. I...

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

I took it on the road today. 79 miles. Pressure holding - solid as a rock. (Or - Like a rock, I'm gonna roll over you! :) ) Strictly anecdotal. I am merely reporting. My experiences are mine. Your decisions are yours. :)

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

The common denominator seems to be that a slime-sealed tube is basically equivalent to any random inner tube. It might last the ride, or it might go flat on me in the middle. I'm not being flippant. That's just the reality. The thing to keep in mind here is that the inner tube is somewhat...

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

I don't think anything was left embedded in the tire. Immediately following the incident I could see some blue liquid poolling on the tread of the tire. But after I rode several miles I can't even see that anymore. Does it dry black or does it pick up dirt and turn black? I've examined the tire...

Drivechain Components for Specialized Creo Turbo

It's ready for replacement. 3 - 4K of miles per season under eLoad in my terrain is guaranteed to stretch that chain. I find I invariably do this seasonally. For another 40-50 bucks at the same time I replace the cassette and keep shifting smoothly. Can anyone give me the parts list? Thanks!

Drivechain Components for Specialized Creo Turbo

Can you please post links to the chain and cassette for the Specialized Creo Turbo? On Amazon or wherever. I like to change these every season. (I used to do this regularly on my Bulls EVO. I'm just completing my first season on the Creo and I'm not sure of the precise specs for these...

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

Thanks guys, for your responses! It seems that either the seal is going to hold permanently, or it may go flat on me! :) More or less the same risk I take every time I hit the road! I do carry spare tubes with me. So I'll take the opportunity to do an experiment. I'll post back after about a...

Is a Slime Seal (Tube) Permanent?

Hi - not specifically an eBike question, but I just got my first slime seal on my slime tubed tires and I have a couple of questions. (Mounted on a Specialized Turbo Creo, in case you are interested.) I felt it when I rode over a piece of shrapnel and heard it clatter away from underneath. What...

[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

Maybe - 1. Get a new e-mail address. 2. Stop reaching out to Rider Care for at least a few weeks. 3. If you have questions or issues see if your LBS or folks here on the forum can help. 4. Reach out to Rider Care sparingly. Just throwing out ideas. Rider Care works for me, so it should work...

[UN-RESOLVED, Again!] Specialized "Rider - I Don't Care" Support is non-existent, what is YOUR experience? (poll) (NEW SYSTEM IN PLACE 4-21-22)

Back to the original topic- Rider Care has answered every e-mail inquiry I've sent them. I've found them to be very helpful. I can't speak to phone contact. Maybe that's the issue? e-mail communication is asynchronous and much less expensive for any company. Give e-mail a shot next time...

How do you clean your chain?

Alternatively, if you have this 5mm Allen socket in your toolkit, you can save yourself $35. This works perfectly for the Creo Turbo. (If you're fastidious, you might want to wrap a strip of duct tape around it , or create some sort of foam collar to preserve the pristine finish on your...

How do you clean your chain?

I just got the Park Tool kit so from now on I'll use that to clean the chain every couple of weeks or so; I do about 120 - 150 mi per week. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z8JH85V Also, in the past I've changed the chain and the cassette annually; I usually do that around Feb or March, in...

How do you clean your chain?

With regard to turning the front cog backwards - here's what I received from Rider Care: Hello and thanks for reaching out! Regarding spinning the front chainring backwards with the bike turned off you are totally fine to do so! With it free spinning there is a tool on the market to hold hold...

How do you clean your chain?

Yeah, that's what I have. Two dealers couldn't keep it airtight. It wasn't worth spending two much money on, because it only acted up if I flipped the bike, like to change a flat, but anyway, after pumping the brake a dozen times it would firm up. I put 9,600 miles on the Bulls and the belt...

How do you clean your chain?

Does the motor drive the pedal axle or does it drive the cog? If it drives the cog, then that would explain it, because the motor might, at times, be driving the cog faster than you are pedaling. So relative to the speed of the cog, you'd be pedaling "backwards". Now if the pedal was locked to...

Whoa! Awesome. But definitely expensive! I'll have to pass on that for now.

How do you clean your chain?

@fooferdoggie , @Alaskan : What kind of stand are you guys using? I have a Park Tool stand which I purchased about 20 years ago when I was riding a meBike, but it doesn't seem durable enough to hold the weight of an eBike. What do you recommend?

How do you clean your chain?

You don't find any issues with the hydraulic brakes when you flip the bike? I try to do that as little as possible. If there's any air in the system it will float up to the piston and then the brakes will be mushy until the air bubble floats back up. I haven't had that issue with my Creo, but I...

How do you clean your chain?

Simple question - how do you clean your chain? How often do you clean your chain? The related question is why don't e-bikes freewheel the front cog backwards? This obviously makes cleaning the chain difficult, hence my original question. Thanks for your advice!

Is there any way to get USB power out of the Creo battery?

In my experience, the Garmin Edge 1000 turns off if you plug it into a *data* connection. If the connection is just charge, no data, it remains on. I plugged it into the Anker with the supplied USB cable and the Garmin remains on while it's charging.
