    Shimano eTube Project faults

I can’t remember what the latest version is off the top of my head. I’ll try to check tomorrow night. Shimano added “securities” to prevent delimiting in recent firmware versions. EMTB has a thread that lists the the last version that still allows delimiting.

25km/h? 32? 45? 60? What speed do you *actually* want on your e-bike?

They don’t appear to ship to the US.....or am I missing something?

25km/h? 32? 45? 60? What speed do you *actually* want on your e-bike?

No, the SC-E6010 does not have Bluetooth. You will need the SC-E6100 display and most likely the motor’s firmware updated, so it will recognize the SC-E6100 display. That’s what I did anyway. Edit: Shimano‘s E-TUBE app doesn’t allow you to change top speed. I think there are other apps that...

    Why an E-Bike and Not a G-Bike??

2 cycle technology has come a long way. Their exhaust emissions and fuel consumption can be as low or lower than a 4 cycle but still retain the advantages of a traditional 2 cycle, such as weight and power output.

Over 50's Trek Allant 9.9s Chronicles

I can second this. While my bike isn't a Trek, it also has an XT derailuer and it shifts up and down flawlessly....and quietly through all the gears. Nicolas, were you possibly shifting while pedaling under heavy load? Even though Bosch has their shift sensing technology, I have found you can...

What's the Best Electric Bike, or at Least Your Favorite!

Just wait! Climbing steep hills in Boost literally makes me giggle every time! Most hills can easily be climbed in Trail, but Boost takes it to another level. Lol. Enjoy! Edit: My girlfriend has a Trek Verve+ with Bosch’s entry level drive that she absolutely loves. This past summer we were...

What's the Best Electric Bike, or at Least Your Favorite!

....well, if you prefer an eBike that rides and feels more like a quality analog bike versus one that feels like your piloting a loaded school bus, I think you’ll be quite happy!! 😜

Percentage of assist for different STePS systems

Also, note that my estimates are based on when the battery is at a 80% charge. Those numbers will notably increase with the battery at 100%. The couple times the battery was charged to 100%, I believe the calculated range after riding a few miles was closer to 80 miles in eco.

No, it’s a Shimano STEPS E8000 with 500Wh battery. Check out the review I linked above.

Help finding balanced commuter / errand bike < ~$2k

Thanks, I absolutely love it! I feel it doesn't get much fanfare when you consider what you are getting for the price......including how light it is at 42 lbs!

Percentage of assist for different STePS systems

Of the mid-drives I’ve ridden, to me it has the most natural feel/power delivery. The tuning/calibration of the Trail mode is spot on.....power output is very reactive and proportional to pedal effort. It provides a very wide range of assist depending on the bikes speed and your pedal effort...

Percentage of assist for different STePS systems

I have a Felt Sport E-50. Unfortunately, my rides are typically less than 25 miles and I try to keep my battery charge between 60% and 85%, so I can’t give you an accurate range estimate. I live in Wisconsin, so the terrain varies between flat and moderately hilly. With that said, when the...

Percentage of assist for different STePS systems

Sorry, I can’t answer your question, but a search on the EMTB forum probably can.....at least in regards to the E8000, since it’s very popular with e mountain bikes. My Felt commuter bike has the 8000 and I absolutely love it. Very smooth, responsive and powerful. I have ridden several bikes...

Help finding balanced commuter / errand bike < ~$2k

Hi! If you have a Felt dealer nearby I highly recommend you check out the Felt Sport E 50. I think it checks most of your boxes. I've had mine since June and absolutely love it. It has the Shimano STEPS E8000 mid drive , so it has plenty of power. It is equipped with higher end components such...
