Anyone have any update on the new Surface 604? All there website says is "something special coming your way". I would love to test ride on if I can find a dealer anywhere in the MD, NJ, VA, DE area, but unlikely. Found this site and was told when i called that it is the same bike as Surface without the name. They too said they are clearing out all current inventory and waiting for a new model, but no information yet. Thanks.

Found this online. (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
don't know why they haven't updated their US site.

Hope the US version has more power than 250W. Nice design but a lot will depend upon price and power. Right now the Radrover looks like a great deal. Just wish I didn't have to wait until August for delivery.

Those Rebel bikes are nice. I currently ride an orange Surface Element and I find the components to be a little on the cheap side. It's nice to see better components on electric fat bikes. I think I'll wait till the price comes down before considering an upgrade.

If you are looking at these fat bikes, look at these, better specs and price.
https://www.prodecotech.com/rebel-series/

I'd actually say they are pretty much on par - that surface pricing is CAD, not USD, so reality is they are only a couple hundred apart at most. Although prodeco has upped their game, they still went with garbage vee8 tires (I know they are, because they are hanging on the wall of my garage), meaning $150+ for an actual decent set of tires on top of their price! I'd also argue the SRAM components on the surface are better than...oh, prodeco doesn't tell us what components they have used for the drivetrain :)

The surface is also a local purchase for the OP! Surface guys are based in Vancouver.

The original poster is from Maryland, not Canada. All bikes noted here are available in North America. These bikes are not near par, the only items not listed on the Rebel are derailluer and shifter, not sure why it has not been updated, those will be Sram x7 or x9. Prodeco has a Sram deal that's why all componentry is made by Sram: Truvativ, RockShox, etc. You also have Sram 4 piston hydraulic brakes on the Rebel, but the major concern is the much smaller motor (350w) and the 13ah Sanyo battery on the Surface verses the Rebel's 600w motor and 14.25ah Samsung battery. I hope all get the best value in a bike they like, but there is a lot more value in the Rebel of the three bikes noted.

I stand corrected! I thought the guy that posted the Winnipeg scooter link was the first post :) I do agree battery and motor are better on the rebel.

I do think they are both nice bikes and both would be at the forefront of my list should I get the fat-bike itch. I just need to be careful and not ride one, I just might buy it if I did;)

The new surface bike is available for pre-order today (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)
There is a coupon code to get 15% off too.
It's a lot more expensive than the old surface, do the new spec's warrant the higher price tag?

Hey Everybody,

This is Dave with Surface 604. Sorry to have been out of touch - we're under new ownership and new management - but we're back and better than ever! The new bikes just arrived this week and we couldn't be happier with how they look and how they ride. We learned a lot from our first bike - the Element - mostly that combining "fat" and "electric" is killer for commuting in all seasons, in all terrain, and for carrying gear where you need to go without getting sweaty and exhausted before you get there.

We invested a lot in the new bike - it was custom designed here in Vancouver, Canada by esteemed designer Jason Fear and there are sooooo many improvements, it's hard to list them all. Love it if you'd check out the new website - it explains everything. As far as price, it is more than the Element ($2499 USD including FREE delivery anywhere in North America) plus we're doing 15% off for a limited time. Last thing, we're doing a photo contest for a FREE bike #winmeafatEbike - details on out site www.surface604.com.

EBR will be reviewing the new bike - stay tuned for that!
