No. They could simply adapt the Flykly for rear gears at some point. It would make it less universal. The Flykly is a hub motor. Maybe you could use the mid-drive and the regenerative braking to keep the battery charged and it would run forever. I've heard there is some kind of law against this. A law of physics.
last i checked the copenhagen wheel was significantly heavier than flykly? sure having the flykly and the 8fun would come out to about the same total weight, but wouldn't putting more of the weight on the frame be better than just a rear heavy-er bike?
