BTN Innovative E-Bikes, OEM White Label Dealer Brand

Hi guys, while visiting the manufacturer and foreign product areas of Interbike this year, I met with the managing director of BTN Innovative E-Bikes, a Chinese company that has been working in the space since 2009. These guys sell blank non-labeled ebikes to shops in Europe and the USA (since around 2015), and can even white-label them if 50+ are ordered. It's a way for shops to maybe dabble in ebikes or just have an affordable option on the floor.

What I thought was really neat here is that the minimum order quantity is just one unit and they ship internationally for $100. This company is only targeting independent electric bike shops and dealers vs. going direct. They are offering a two year warranty on parts, but do charge some for shipping, and have a couple of folding ebikes in the $1k MSRP range all the way up to full suspension carbon models in the $3k range. Later in the interview, I was told that over 100 shops already carry these bikes in the United States... and I'm guessing that they are expanding in North America due in part to the "anti dumping" legislation in Europe. In any case they didn't give me a specific shop name, maybe to protect the rebranding that they can do?

Both Kevin Fang and Nicolas Zhang had accents because Mandarin and Cantonese are their first languages, but their English was good enough to speak and get things worked out for the most part. These guys finished up by telling me about their warehouse with parts in Las Vegas, that is meant to help service and support products around the country (reducing turnaround time). They created a brand called Concord which was named for Concord California, where their US offices are based.

To run the forums, host the site, and travel, I have introduced a service fee for my reviews and some in-depth videos like this. My goal is to be transparent and unbiased, this video and post are not meant to be an endorsement but I did receive payment from BTN to spend extra time and make this video.

Court , I am a dealer for BTN and BTN does not have a service center in Las Vegas . They do not keep parts there and you cant go there to test ride a bike . What they have there is a drop ship warehouse . I wasn't aware of this until I signed a DS contract with them . I have the Fat AWD bike and the etorque here in Tucson that can be test ridden though .

The quality on the Etorque has been good so far . The quality of the AWD Fat bike has not . The customer service is even worse . The Fat bike has a bad controller and after a few tests I did to satisfy you guys and get a new controller to me you , Kevin and Ruby sent me the wrong one . I told Ruby what the problem is and even sent her a picture of the new one and the old one side by side and she replied
In this picture you seems have 2 controllers on the bike.

Sorry we don't have that kind of extension cable for controllers. We ship the same controllers to our customers, but never met questions like this..

Regards,

Ruby

Yes , I put the old controller and the new controller in the picture with the new controller so you can see
the difference between them . The controller you shipped me does not match the old controller ,
it only has a two inch cable plus plug coming out of it and the original controller that is in the bike
has a 19 inch cable coming out of it so you see the new one wont work unless you send me a cable or
send me the right controller . Have somebody check it out and you will see .

Now she wont answer me or tell me how it is I am supposed to fix your mistake . I wont sell one of your bikes at this point for fear of having something go wrong and me not being able to fix a customers bike for them .

Hi, Jangles,

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The AWD controller is difficult to install in.

Please send the 2 controllers back and we check the difference or you prefer to get a extension cable?

Best wishes

The controller is not difficult to install and I don't need to send the controllers back for you to see the difference in them . I have sent you a picture of the two controllers side by side and you can clearly see the difference . Look at the pictures and you tell me , can you see the difference ?? Simply send me an extension cable and be done with it or send me the right controller and I will send this one back to you at your expense.

Well I got the cable and as usual you sent me the wrong length . I made it fit anyway and the damn thing still only
does both wheels . I am tired of this piece of junk and have thrown it on my trash pile and I will be more
than happy to tell anyone that asks what a POJ it is . I cant believe I wasted my money on this thing .
