Catrike with 8Fun 500 W

I post this not knowing if the BB on a Catrike is 68 or 73 mm so this may be moot, but:
Any thoughts on a mid mount 8Fun on a Catrike recumbent Villager. Is there too much chain through idlers for it to be efficient? Too much torque? Too much weight out in space at the end of the crank arm shaft so this configuration would be front heavy (battery may counter this). Is a rear wheel hub motor a better choice? I welcome your thoughts.

There's at least one Expedition out there with a Bafang, I've seen pics. I've got a Falco rear hub motor that I'm putting on my Expedition. I ride bike paths mostly and dont' need a lot of torque.
Personally I think the crank drive for torque, off road and pulling loads, stuff like that.
I don't like the look of a blob out on the end of the boom, but your legs weigh a lot more than the 10lb (?) motor. Doubt that is a big factor.
The Bafang is definitely what I want for my mtb. Just have to wait till the fit bigger bb shells.

I just put one on my trident titan. Haven't used it a lot yet still working on a few bugs mostly had a problem with mounting battery on rack at back as some things on rack were not tightened properly but so far other then that it rocks. Have the bafang bb02 500w 48v model on it. I think the battery on rack sort of balances the motor on front so seems ok so far. Have not rode the trike at all really without the kit installed either so can't really compare.
