I could see my next bike being an R&M Homage

Turned over 4000 km on my Trek Verve + 3 today, in less than 4 months. Very happy with it riding on and off roads with some modifications... it’s no longer really a commuter bike, nor was it ever that for me. Got looking at the Scooteretti lineup here in Canada after my ride today. The R&M Homage costs less than 10% of what I have in my sailboat, which my wife isn’t physically up to any more. Dreaming...

I cannot buy an R&M e-bike because it is unavailable and not serviced in my country. I'd like to own a Homage as my single e-bike for a simple reason: It would have taken many thousand of kilometres before the Gates belt or Rohloff actually broke. (Servicing the derailleur systems has become very difficult now, in the times of covid and disruption in the supply chain...)

You really think so Stefan? I would think servicing the Rohloff in these unstable times is more difficult. After all derailleur systems are nearly 150 year old tech.

10,000 miles means 3 years of all year round cycling for me, and the trouble might already start post-covid. While at least the chain should be replaced after every one thousand miles max or more frequently, and if that's not done in time, try and find spare parts... No Shimano spare parts worldwide now, a least not to the end of this month! (Been there and done that).
