This shop just keeps on taking care of us. They borrowed my bike for a large Stromer demo. They said Stromer would give us 1/2 off the City kit for the wife's bike. They did and some how an additional new battery is coming too!
Ordered a replacement lock assembly for my bike since it has gotten very stubborn after interference from my city kit installation, cleaned both bikes and agreed mine is not as peppy as hers. They said they will check/revise the programming when their equipment arrives.

They do this w/a smile and apologetic rather than blaming, just a super pleasure to deal with in general!

Concur with this, Mark.
Very nice people and that's where I test rode the stromer elite.
Also, Stacey at the front desk is knowledgeable and cute :)

Thanks for the testimonial Opimax! It's great to hear about shops that are doing good work... I've actually spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to support local shops (through word of mouth here and back on the site). I've got a free local geo-targeted listing tool for bike shops and can provide a bit more exposure for a small monthly fee of $15. If you think the shop would be interested please pass this on and have them contact me :)

Damn I am now going to find out how good their service really is, my bike stopped working last night. I was 25 miles from home in Md going up a slight hill at 12.5 mph near White Flint mall the assist quit, the light on the dash controller went out. The LCD screen is stuck on 12.5 mph, 2 bars of power in us use like it is moving, will not respond to buttons and won't turn off. I tried disconnecting the display but nothing changed.

I will call them today and drop off tomorrow

Good luck Mark! I hope the local shop can help you, it sounds like your bike is still under warranty and I know Currie offers good support to shops... Let us know what happens!

Court,

I did mention the site and this post to the shop. I was told it would be brought up. Also this is a Stromer, from above you mentioned Currie ?

I spoke to the shop, I told them I would pull the battery in the display to reset it. I wasn't sure if they wanted left alone to see the symptom or not, they didn't. The system came to life. Should be able to test ride today.

I rode the bike yesterday to the bike shop. I left all seemed good until I noticed the cut off switch in the brake was not working. Finished the 10 miles no issues . Reeves imediately put in the rack and worked on it. The brake was repaired, he had a hard time with the the door mechanism and the cables but got it together :) . I have had issues changing the battery since the install of the city kit and the internal wiring.

All good!I have sent Ravi an email hope to meet up and go a good distance on the bike today

Mark, we should plan for next weekend. The cherries along the Jefferson memorial should be in full bloom and a ride along the waterfront will be a beautiful.
Hope you had an awesome ride today.

Made to the end of the trail and back plus a little more 86+ miles on the odometer. I will check on next week

Mark
Mark,
You're an ebike monster..!! 86+ miles in one ride is just too much..!!
I wish I could have that level of stamina when I am 55.

Hey Court,
If you're in DC, let me know. Few of us could meet up.

Around this area, Hybrid Pedals is a good shop to visit. Cycle life carries one or two Stromers and they are basically bicycle shop and they don't carry any other brand apart from Stromer.
Philly Electric Wheels is another great shop to visit.
If you are near Chicago, then you can never miss Len's electric bike. Len is a superb guy. Although he is new to ebikes, he is not new to bicycle business. He has sold over 20,000 normal bikes during stint at American TV and Furniture. He single handedly built that shop into a retail giant. If you're interested, I can introduce you to him.

Philly shop is awesome! I used to drive there to get my original stromer repaired, great people. Cycle life may only have stromers and ebikes are not there biggest sellers but they have done excellent by me keeping me riding and so pleasant to deal with.

Happy to meet and ride also, how long would you be in town ? I can burn almost anything on my grill if you have time. :)
