Research on user innovation E-bike

Dear forum members,

For my bachelor thesis at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands I am performing a research about adjustments (user innovations) to an E-bike made by retired users. Therefore, I am curious about all the adjustments that you have ever made to your E-bike. From an extra mirror to a special kickstand.

I want to add information to the existing literature of innovation. In the traditional literature older users are positioned as non innovative. And I want to prove that this is not the case and since science has shown that older people were among the first users of the e-bike, the e-bike is the perfect case. There is no sponsor involved in this project.

If you want to help with my research and you would like to post something on this subject I would like to know the next few things:
- Are you retired or in the same age group of people that are retired?
- Have you ever made or designed an adjustment for your E-bike? (Think about everything, a new ring, a different colour, an enlarged saddle, a device to fasten your E-bike and so on)
- Why did you make this adjustment? (Think about safety, speed, comfort and so on)

I will not use any personal information so your answer will be anonymous. I am interested in your reactions on this forum. You can also reach me on the email address: sophiegraduates@gmail.com

Thank you, Sophie

@sophiegraduates you can find a lot of this information using the search engine link at the top right of each page. Folks have posted about special mods since the site started. Not sure why they need to be retirees; that's rather vague. Lots of good innovation that you can read about, some is specific to particular brands, since designs can vary and some based on specific rider needs.

Would you please include information about what school you are at and who is the sponsor of this program.
