Should the battery charger shut off automatically?

I have 2 new Leisure Steps and noticed something the first time I charged up the 2 batteries. One charged up and the charger shut off automatically. The indicator on the battery said full so I didn’t think any about it. The other battery charged up, but the charger didn’t shut off automatically and that indicator read full as well. I’m charging that one again and it isn’t shutting off with the battery showing full.

Which of the 2 is supposed to happen??

Also, the information for this may well have been on the instructions with the chargers, but I mistakenly trashed them when I was cleaning up all the crap from the boxes. Totally my bad.

Keep in mind too that batteries need several cycles to get cells all balanced and equal. The first couple of charges may not yield best battery use. Ride and charge fully and the cells should improve for best performance.

Thanks. Yeah I read that here somewhere. This community is pretty awesome. :)

I only wish I could change the battery readout to voltage or even percentage for a better gauge on use. I think the only way to do that is to change the display outright.

In any case, thanks much!

Give it some time. It may be fine as is once you get used to it.

Hey… I’ve looked at the advanced settings several times and totally missed the “battery percentage indicator” setting. I’ll turn that on before my ride today. Should be all I need as you stated. :)
