Tony is really doing a great job with these bikes in my opinion. Very neat that you can balance the cells individually and you can check the individual cell voltages externally. The outside controller keeps it cooler and its location protects it from any damage that may occur from rocks. Quiet and powerful hub motor.

Those guys are obsessed with performance instead of reliability, safety and visual appeal.

If you're trying to sell retail do NOT

Sell an illegal road eBike for public roads (top of the line model)
Use unstable Hobby King LiPo batteries
Mount a battery box that is Wide and sharp edges
Mix disc and caliper brakes (top of line model)
Use cheap LED gages

Does this battery even have a BMS to protect it from overcharging or discharging?

This bike screams homemade

They don't do a very good job of selling why they need the performance, especially if it is a basic bike, and people ride on public streets.

Next year, California will require a label showing watts and top speed, plus the category.

The performance people are basically saying they can do anything they want.

So it's just a lousy situation and it's hard to predict how it plays out.

I don't know if they are using hobby batteries, but there's no reason to do that anymore.
