Sometimes upgrades suck.

man sometimes you got to say no. Wanted the display on my bosch based bike upgraded so I get more info and I know how much power I am using, We have a great e bike shop in town I bought the bike and the upgrade kit from them and I had them do the upgrade. The tube the wires go through was so small that they had to tear the bike part to get the new wire through, they had to remove the motor (that's expected) run a full diagnostic on it then put the new display in. all that took 3 hours only to find it wont work. Now they are have to contact bosch to see if they have any idea's. they cant just put it back together it would take just as long. so no bike for maybe a week. got to see how much a rental would cost. I would have to use my seat I cant ride any other seat without issues. this is going to be an expensive upgrade. I ride 25 miles a day commuting on that bike it has kept me from having to ride the bus.

Fooferdoggie,
Thank you so much for sharing you experience.
It's a perfect example of why I'm not upgrading the Bloks display on my Vado. Too much to go wrong, even in experienced hands. So very glad I watched the YouTube video of how they disassemble most of the entire bike.
I give you credit for sounding somewhat calm. I would NOT be happy in the same situation.
Hang in there. Hoping all turns out well.

Doesn't sound like a great eBike shop to me.
Seems no research or bench testing was done prior to a first time install of a product.

kiox are not new bosch just finally made them available for upgrading. they fully checked the motor before they did the upgrade. the problem was bulls made the wire tube so small it was almost impossible to get the wires through. They have not upgraded a bulls bit I was the first one to do so since there were no upgrades available

I am not happy but it is what it is. it would take them 3 hours to get the bike back to the way it was so it was not like they could slap it back together. They will give me a deal on a rental and when I broke my fender and needed some rewiring they gave me a loaner for free. but debasting on buying a acustic bike under 1000 then I would have a backup. my energy levels are high enough now I can ride it without issues. though I doubt I can do 22 mph on it (G) the thing is I commute 20 miles a day minimum by bike and its faster and safer then the bus.

Here is another recommended upgrade... get another Ebike so you always have N+1! ;)
That was exactly my situation twice, and that's why my N = 3 :) Sadly enough, that won't help foofer...

You don't know what you're losing, Marci :) If you excuse my jolly remark, get yourself a Full-Suspension e-bike during the TCD-W overhaul!

@fooferdoggie: I sympathise with you, yet often the upgrade is worth of waiting...
