The first 1200 miles on Riese and Muller Supercharger 2

I purchased my Supercharger 2, Touring, HS with derailleur on June 14 that and have been riding it consistently over the past 2 months. I always wanted to have an e-bike, ever since cruising along Southern France on rented e-bikes 10 years ago but somehow never pulled the trigger. Perhaps because I could swim daily and walk daily and now with COVID and shelter in place and continuing lack of opened pools in San Francisco, I decided to buy the e-bike. Yes, I was depressed, anxious and cooped up in my house, tired of zooms and lack of human contact, concerned about people aggregating in common parks, and wanting to explore much more of the area. So I did splurge over 8K, a lot of money, but I felt that it will let me ride away from all the craziness that befell us. And I did ride it and love it. I have had ZERO problems and paid my LBS 250 a year to take care of maintenance and tune ups whenever I want to have it done as well as free transport service if my bike gets me immobilized.

What have I learned riding my Supercharger2. I get exercise, I can ride for 6 hours and cover over 100 miles in Eco mode. It feels great to finish off in Turbo mode as I climb my hill to get to my house. Its stable, its competent and feels like it will not betray me. What I have learned is that google app is superior in showing me bike trails that are as much devoid of busy traffic as possible. Strava is for show. Komoot is cool but not as good as google in this area. I wish I purchased Rohloff or Enviolo version but at the time of purchase I was ignorant of those possibilities. I wish there were more trails that didnt involve busy streets and I wish that San Francisco just closes off a large part of their streets. Let bikes and pedestrians rule. My Audi is sitting idle in my garage. Perhaps I should sell it and get another Riese and Muller? But I do love my Audi for long distance drives. So I will keep it. For now.

SC2 with Rolhoff here it is also the most comfortable bike I have ever owned or ridden, belt drive means no more filthy black stuff.
Expensive yes but i cant drive anymore so splash the cash i did.
Only nitpick is i prefer the Suntour suspension seatpost on my other one to the Thudbuster on this one.

2500 miles update guys. Nothing changed. The bike is rock solid. I am comfortable now changing gears without putting too much pressure on the chain, the batteries show no decrease in range, I have become more accustomed in using Eco to extend range and the longest ride was 100 miles (San Francisco to Petaluma and back). No blown tires, one set of brakes (front) replaced, taking it to my LBS for tune up next week. The only thing I wished is to purchase two more batteries and extend my range to 150 miles. My favorite ride is San Francisco-Fairfax-up Fairfax- Bolinas Road - Ridgecrest boulevard-San Francisco.

Hi @AleksR. Thanks for sharing your experience. From what you’re saying I believe you bought you SC2 from New Wheel. I just ordered my SuperDelite from them last weekend and waiting for it to arrive prob by Christmas time. Can’t wait to have it.

Appreciate you sharing your favorite rides, I’m now also looking into all the fun places I’ll be able to do from SF since I don’t even have a car here.

Happy rides and stay safe!

Yes, I did buy it from Newwheel. They had mine in stock and got it June of this year. They have been good to me so far. I purchased their $250/year maintenance plan. I think it's worth, will see. There are so many great places to ride around here. Marine headlands is another favorite, as well as the roads around Woodside.
