Water Bottle Cage Braze-Ons?

Looking at the images of the Emotion Neo Cross, Race and Carbon it occurred to me there are no water-bottle cage braze-ons. I did look at a Race on Friday but cannot recall if it had any so a question for those who have actually seen one of these bikes or got one. Do they have braze-ons for a water bottle cage?

Thanks
Andrew

Andrew,

It doesn't have braze-ons but we have come up with many alternatives including the below items I listed.

Hey Andrew, you're correct. None of the Easy Motion Neo ebikes have bottle cage mounts or bosses (as of now at least) the battery packs are completely smooth and take up the entire downtube space. I personally think they could have added them on the Jet but maybe it was a strength issue?

A while back several of us were brainstorming about water bottle adapters for electric bikes and found several more options, similar to what Chris has shared. If you find anything else, just add it to the list :D

Thanks Chris and Court. I will explore the options down the track. BTW Specialized seem to have resolved the issue with their Turbo S which has a mount on the battery case so it seems it can be done :).

You're correct! I actually call that out in my review and was pretty impressed with the system. Added a close up picture in fact.

Anything is possible and for $3K more than the Easy Motion bikes you can get the Turbo to carry your water bottle like a boss! with bosses...

I've been down this road with the UK importer, who in all fairness did contact BH Spain in relation to the subject.

The reply from Spain was that there was no space on my Neo Xtrem for one. This is actually incorrect as there is.

I've used several different version of clamp on mounts, from frame, seat post to handle bar. In the end I gave up after loosing too many bottles from them jumping out over rough terrain and now just use a bum pouch/bag that has a bottle holder.

Nice, something like this Eddie? You may already know but in the US we often refer to these things as "fanny packs" which I'm sure you will find hilarious because according to Yahoo answers...
"Fanny" in the USA is a girl's behind/bum. In the UK it is her front/vulva area.

I'm not apposed to your definition at all by the way...

Hooray for languages! Quick, grab your bumbershoot and meet me in the water closet!

I never kiss and tell James... Let's just say I've dated a few girls from the UK and enjoyed the cultural adventure of it all!

ps. these images were pulled from Google with a bit of sleuthing. My own pictures are private and there were no fanny packs involved... unfortunately ;)

Good call on keeping those "other" pics on the DL

LOL so true. They retail here for AU$7,600 and I would love one but I suspect that sort of dollars might cost me more than a bike :)

This one worked well for me on some rougher trails in Moab. I did use plastic tape under the connection to prevent scratching the post. I also use elastic cord to secure my bottle, which I have done for all of my mountain bikes. Notice the water bottle tucked behind the yellow repair bag:

Mtnm,

I may have to get one of those water bottle mounts for my Carbon. I usually throw a water bottle in my backpack, but I HATE stopping to get it out, drink it, and put it back. I am a bit like Chevy Chase from Vacation who didn't want to stop at the Grand Canyon because he was making good time. I guess water is worth a minute or two.

BTW: I love the pictures of Moab. I got to get there one of these days!!

Thanks Vern,

I really like not having a backpack. Hope you make it to Moab. The picture was at Klondike Bluffs. I found the Chile Pepper Bike Shop great for information and fixing bike issues.

Hey Mike! I'm from Colorado and also love Moab. Thanks for the tip on the Chile Pepper Bike Shop... I'll have to check it out next time I'm passing through. Do you live in Fort Collins by any chance?

Hey I am a new Neo Cross owner and I am not having luck with bottle cages after going to 2 bike stores -- Chris I can't make out the name brands on the pix that you posted in March -- particularly the one in the middle -- will you tell me the name? I had trouble with a style similar to the first pic because the cage came down so far that I couldn't put a rack on the rear tire, the bottles hung down too far and interfered with the rack. Help if you can!
