The Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon is an impressive electric road bike that delivers exceptional performance and range. Specialized has long been known for making top-tier performance road bikes like the Tarmac, Venge, Roubaix, Allez and Diverge. The Turbo Creo SL builds on that legacy as a lightweight yet powerful e-road bike.
Frameset and Motor
At the heart of the Turbo Creo SL is an advanced FACT 11r carbon fiber frame, the same grade used on Specialized's S-Works models. This provides an exceptionally stiff and responsive riding experience that encourages accelerating and carving corners. The lightweight SL 1.1 motor is fully integrated into the down tube and provides up to 240 watts of silent, smooth assistance that amplifies your pedaling power. With no drag when unassisted, the motor's power kicks in seamlessly to flatten hills and battle headwinds.
Range and Charging
Range anxiety won't be an issue with the Turbo Creo SL. The fully integrated 320Wh battery hidden in the down tube provides up to 80 miles of assistance. An optional range extender can connect to provide an additional 40 miles of range, for over 100 miles between charges. The included 48V charger conveniently plugs directly into a port on the frame.
Specialized's Mission Control app connects your bike via ANT+ and Bluetooth and allows full control and customization of the SL 1.1 motor's output. The app can also automatically manage the battery to optimize range. A handlebar-mounted Turbo Connect Unit provides an alternative way to monitor battery level and switch between ride modes if you don't want to use the app.
Comfort and Control
Specialized's Future Shock 2.0, located in the steerer tube, helps isolate vibrations to reduce rider fatigue. Its hydraulic internals control rebound, while an adjustable top cap lets you fine tune the compression. Combined with the dropped seatstays and flexible seatpost, this creates an exceptionally smooth ride quality. Powerful Shimano GRX hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable stopping power in all conditions.
The Turbo Creo SL features an updated "Open Road Geometry" frame design optimized for stability and comfort, suitable for riders of all sizes. Other rider-focused touches include the Body Geometry Power Sport saddle, S-Wrap handlebar tape and Hover handlebars.
Wheels and Tires
The Turbo Creo SL rolls on DT R470 rims wrapped in fast-rolling 28mm Specialized Turbo Pro tires. The rims use the Boost standard for increased lateral stiffness and expanded tire clearance. Quality details like sealed cartridge bearings in the hubs and Presta valves on the inner tubes make the Turbo Creo SL ready for the long haul.
With its blend of low weight, ample power and generous range, the Specialized Turbo Creo SL Comp Carbon sets a new benchmark for high-end e-road bikes. Riders who demand top-tier road bike performance with electric assistance will find their match with the Turbo Creo SL.
