Optibike Reviews

Optibike was started by Jim Turner in 1998 in his garage in Boulder, Colorado. After graduating with an advanced degree from Stanford, Turner first became a design engineer in the Advanced Vehicle Controls Division at Ford Motor Company. But, after he became frustrated with slow innovation in large corporate life, Jim looked for something that would provide a positive impact on people’s lives. After learning about the electric bike, he knew he had to be a part of the industry. In 2007, after 9 years of “trials and tribulations”, the first Optibike was sold. Since then, Optibikes have been sold in over 33 countries. “I love that Ebikes are good for your health and the environment, with Optibike, I get a chance to directly impact the lives of others” – Jim Turner
